Was a Big Success
Dear Event Supporter:
I just wanted to post a quick thank you and a recap of the June 18, 2011 Pre-Father’s Day Brunch. The event was attended by 156 guests (that’s six more then our goal of 150)! Our guest speaker Chazz Woodson gave an inspirational speech about faith, determination and giving back. The feedback was overwhelming. We had coaches say they needed to take the message back to their teams; we had community leaders say they would increase their giving and we had families say they were happy their children heard such a positive and uplifting speech from a professional athlete.
The generosity of sponsors and attendees helped us exceed our fundraising goal by 35%. These much needed funds will assist us with our mission of “assisting adults with disabilities live as independently as possible”. To be more specific we will use these funds to offset the newest state budget cuts to our program and to purchase adaptive equipment for our new facility.
These next few months will be an exciting time for us. We anticipate a move in August to a larger space, which will enable us to serve more individuals in the community. We have been honored to be asked to be a recipient of the Rooney’s Golf Foundation’s 10th Annual Golf Tournament on October 27, 2011. Circle that date now, it will be an exciting event and last we are planning a Grand Opening for early this fall!
